As part of the Midwest Modern Language Association, I had the opportunity to present work on the internet-sensation turned book (allegedly turned into a film, but let’s forget that happened) John Dies at the End. In this work, I was able to discuss its overlapping anxieties when representing disabled bodyminds and conspicuously erasing race (while using racialized commentary) to evoke horror in readers.
